Whenever the holiday season comes, beer lovers get their fill at the 24th Annual Holiday Ale Festival which will be held on Dec 4 to 8 2019. This yearly tradition is a celebration for all beer lovers in Portland and for anyone who loves beer wherever you may come from.
This years celebration will be held once more at the heart of downtown Portland at the Pioneer Courthouse Square, you can get here directly from the MAX transit line.
Visitors will get a wonderful treat as they are kept warm and dry beneath a large clear top tent which gives a view of the city lights. Gas heaters are used to create a warm ambiance under one of the region’s largest and decorated Christmas trees.
Enjoy not only the beer drinking but also the on-site food and festival merchandise being sold at bargain prices.
Some important things to remember during the festival:
- Those with Bags are subject to search before entering
- No Glassware is allowed by the Portland Police Dept., for those with glassware, you need to remove it from the festival area or check it in at the CCA Coat Check
- The Pioneer Courthouse Square venue is 100% Smoke-Free which includes Vape free, E-pen free and Marijuana Free.
- You should empty all outside sports and water bottles upon entry
- No outside food is allowed at the event
Your 2018 Advance VIP and GA ticket packages are no longer available. Standard tickets can be bought at the door. You get Free re-admission into the Festival with current year’s glass plus wristband.
Onsite tickets and merchandise will be on Cash Basis Only. Visitors that are “Visibly Intoxicated” will not be served.
For entry and tasting of beers, an initial tasting package is required. The package has 12 beer tickets plus a souvenir glass and costs $40 at the entry door. More beer tickets can be bought at $1 each. Previous years’ mugs and glasses can’t be used and will not be filled. Only current year glasses can be reused all throughout the 5-day festival within the same year.
The Festival features Govino glasses instead of the usual plastic mugs. All mugs are made from a flexible BPA-free polymer which features all types of beers. Govino mugs are reusable, recyclable and shatterproof.
One ticket will get you a “taster” size portion of beer while a full glass requires four tickets, this is also dependent on whether the beer is a limited release or special tapping beer.
The festival will stop pouring beer 30 minutes before the posted festival closure time. Ticket sales and entry stop 45 minutes before posted festival closure time.
The Festival is only for those 21 years and above, no minors and infants are allowed. No pets are allowed (except ADA).
All entry and beer tickets expire on the last day of the event, past year tickets are not good for future events.

Your designated driver will get FREE non-alcoholic sodas from Crater Lake Sodas or bottled water for the duration of their stay. Take note that they are NOT allowed to drink ANY alcohol, not even a sip.
